Tuesday Jan 04, 2022
The Judgies are back! Scott and Dan are ready to hand out hardware (it's in the mail, unless it's stolen) for officiating and fighting categories. The CSJ had such fun distributing awards they got a little carried away, but hopefully you'll have fun looking back on the year that was in 2021 MMA.

E166 - 2021 MMA Judging Data Special
Monday Dec 27, 2021
Monday Dec 27, 2021
The Data Special returns! Scott and Dan are back to break down what all the data from scored rounds in UFC, Bellator and PFL in 2021 can tell us about the state of MMA judging. Did the infamous 10-8 scores in Round 5 of Jan Blachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya have a clear impact on the number of 10-8s handed out the rest of the year? Are judges more (or less) likely to achieve unanimity in UFC than, say, Bellator or PFL? These questions and more await in the 2021 edition of the judging data breakdown.

Monday Dec 13, 2021
The epic MMA judging nerd team-up finally is here! Scott and Dan are thrilled to welcome Sean Sheehan, essentially the pioneer of advocating MMA judging criteria education to the masses, to break down the contested rounds from UFC 269. We break down some interesting scores which, quite possibly, might have been different a year ago. Plus, thoughts abound on the futures of the lightweight and women's bantamweight divisions.

Tuesday Dec 07, 2021
Tuesday Dec 07, 2021
A day later than usual, Scott and Dan are back with a breakdown of the (very few) contested rounds from the UFC Apex on Saturday. More importantly, the CSJ have strong thoughts on a round in William Knight's win over Alonzo Menifield that the judges saw unanimously one way and the media scores on MMA Decisions saw unanimously the other way. Which is the crazy size? Tune in and find out!

E162 - Past Judgment: Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber
Monday Nov 29, 2021
Monday Nov 29, 2021
The CSJ had no rounds to break down from the weekend as they digested their turkey and, especially in Dan's case, the Thanksgiving sides. But before Scott and Dan look ahead to next weekend, they went back to 2010 and re-scored Jose Aldo's first WEC featherweight title defense against Urijah Faber. And boy, was that one lopsided. Give a listen and revisit a steadily more thorough beating by Aldo, who all these years later is headlining the upcoming UFC card from the Apex.
